Built to Last: Celebrating Our Success, Excited for the Future

In 1995, at 28 years old, I made the decision to leave a Fortune 500 company to move to Iowa and join Interstates. Many saw it as a risk, but looking back, it was one of the best decisions of my life. This year marks my 30th anniversary with Interstates, and the transformation over the years has been incredible.
Back then, the internet was in its infancy, cell phones were rare, and the Interstates Family was much smaller. Today, we’ve grown in ways I never imagined—expanding our team, broadening our client base, and tackling larger, more complex projects than ever before. The opportunities ahead are even more exciting.
Yet, what truly matters to us hasn’t changed. The core values and culture that make Interstates special remain as strong as ever:
- A culture built on integrity and excellence
- Investing in people and their development
- Positively impacting our clients
- Keeping safety at the forefront
- Supporting and engaging in our communities
- Genuinely caring for one another
These principles continue to define who we are.
To our clients, business partners, and team members—thank you. Your dedication and trust are the foundation of our success.
As we look ahead, we will continue turning challenges into opportunities, leading with purpose, innovation, and the Interstates Way. If the past 30 years are any indication, the next 10 or 20 will be just as exciting. Here’s to the future!
