Solider Canyon Filter Plant Project

This Micro-Hydro project allowed the client to capture valuable Xcel energy savings by harnessing energy from the rushing flow of water from Horsetooth Reservoir. Interstates’ scope of work helped enable the flow of water to turn a large turbine, generating electricity and providing valuable energy rebates, while lessening peak energy demands for the utility. This project was awarded the 2019 Independent Electrical Contractors of the Rocky Mountains’ Summit Award for electrical excellence.

Key Scope Components

Installation of a 207 kw In-Line Hydro Turbine that produces more energy than is needed at the facility which allows them to sell some of the electricity produced. Coordinated with Xcel Energy to upsize and replace existing utility transformer.
