Real Stories, Real Success: Hear from Our Apprentices

What I like most about having been here with Interstates is probably how much I've learned and how quickly I've learned it. The people that I'm working with are very good teachers. Everybody's always there to help me out and make sure that I learn things the right way.

Kyla Cornine, Electrical Apprentice, 3rd Year

Starting out, I knew nothing about electrical engineering. It looked intriguing, just to learn something new. All my electrical knowledge has been achieved from Interstates training and field experience. Now, I've been with Interstates for over 25 years.

Andy Van Voorst, Electrical Apprentice to Site Project Manager II

One thing I really enjoy about working with Interstates is the opportunities they give you, especially for being young, being your first electrical job out of trade school or college. It’s a great opportunity to increase your skillset and your knowledge as you work toward journeyman level.

Timothy Burchwell, Electrical Apprentice, 4th Year

What stood out to me was that the program aligned closely with everything I studied in school but with the added benefit of hands-on experience. As someone who learns best through practical application, I was excited about the chance to gain real-world experience and further develop my abilities.

Brandie Giese, OT Apprentice to System Analyst I

I’ve created relationships with tons of people in the company, and now most people feel more like family than they do coworkers. Interstates is one of the few companies that lives out its core values and listens when it's time to make changes with the way we do things.
